Suomenlinna Guide Training 2025

Ehrensvärd Society will organize a guide training in Suomenlinna from 18.9.2025.  Guided tours at Suomenlinna are subject to authorization and only guides authorized by Ehrensvärd-Society are allowed to guide in the fortress..

Guide course 2025

Guide Training is organized as a series of lectures in Suomenlinna. The course requirements include attendance of lectures and demonstrations (10 times in total), maintenance of a lecture diary and an oral and written examination. The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the history, present day and management of Suomenlinna as a World Heritage Site. The course will take place on Thursdays 18.9 – 20.11. at 15.00 – 17.00

Participation in the training is free of charge. The training will be held in English and the lecture notes and exam can be taken in Finnish, Swedish or English. Please note that guiding in Suomenlinna requires good physical fitness and a strong voice. Previous guiding experience is an advantage. We also emphasize language skills. In addition to Finnish and English, the ability to guide in one of the following languages would be an advantage: Swedish, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Italian.
